Cubs

Cubs enjoy fun and new adventures with physical and personal challenge involved to help them to reach their potential. Cubs can earn badges for a diverse range of activities from athletics or astronomy to photography and pioneering. They will get to go on events, trips and camps – the main camp being two nights away over a weekend in the Spring/ early Summer. Activities are both indoors and outdoors and the programme the leaders choose to run is shaped by the interests of the young people. The annual chippy hike includes the Fairfax race up the Odda for which they can even earn a trophy!

There is also the chance to take part in District Events such as the annual Five-a-side Tournament, Swimming Gala, the Quiz or the Cooking competition.

Cubs is for young people aged 8 to 10½ years old.

Cub meetings take place on weeknight evenings during term time. With trips and camps taking place on weekends and other nights throughout the year. We have two cub packs in Menston: Cromwell and Fairfax. They run a parallel programme and often run joint activities.

Most Cubs join by “Swimming up” from Beavers. However we can sometimes offer places to new Cubs, please fill in the form here to join our waiting list and we will let you know if a space becomes available.
